Question about mineral foundation powder…Talc free or not? Mary Kay?
I bought the Mary Kay Mineral powder foundation.The bare minerals was way to drying for my face.I read it had Talc in it.what does this mean?Do you recommend any other powder foundations?
I have to say that I think mineral makeup is a total marketing gimmick. However, Bare Minerals does NOT have talc in it and you should certainly avoid any makeup that does have talc – it’s terrible for your skin. Another ingredient that you might want to avoid is bismuth oxycloride – for some people it can cause a great deal of itching. Bare Minerals does contain bismuth
Mary Kay mineral makeup lists talc as the first ingredient – BAD! However this makeup does not have bismuth in it.
Even with an excellent moisturizer, mineral makeup makes my skin look dry and old. I’ll stick with my Clinique liquid foundation!
EDIT:
Just wanted to give you some more information about talc. Talc is a carcinogen (it causes cancer!) and you really should avoid it all costs. Mary Kay cosmetics should be ashamed of themselves.
